Adjacent
polygons slide along a shared edge.
The first
image (Fig. 1) shows a closing figure with six equilateral triangles. In the
second image, the adjacent triangles each slide along a shared edge. The third
image shows the path (blue) of the centers of the equilateral triangles and an
outer frame (red). The respective outer edges of the equilateral squares move
along this frame.
